I found Nemo....

Hello Everyone, and welcome... Today, was, as usual another exciting day in Maui. We awoke at 7:50 this morning! It was a real treat to sleep in for once! Today was also extra special because we woke up to the sun shining! Without delay we went straight down to Patti's condo and drank a cup of Joe' and at some breakfast and although I tried, Hillary refused to go Snorkeling with me. So, it was all me and David today. I just want to write a little blurb about snorkeing.... my first experience at snorkeling the other day wasnt so hot. I mean, i enjoyed it, but i found myself focusing so much on my mask fogging up and my breathing that I seriously started to hyperventelate and was unable to focus on the amazing wildlife just below me! Well today was completly different. I waded into the water determined to conquer the snorkel. Right off the bat, things were completly different, for one. The weather was great and the water was clear and calm. David and I headed out to the rocky reef and began exploring. After only a few minutes I had lost myself in the beautiful coral and the fish that were going on their merry way as I watched on. After i began to get the whole breathing thing down, i got even more adventurous and was able to hold my breath and dive down lower and then return up and clear my snorkle to continue on. We saw some really great fish, even some finding nemo's, (clown fish) some puffer fish, some eel like things AND the big thing for me was a friggen octopus! I dove down to get a closer look at a piece of weird coral and as i got no more than a foot away from it, I saw that it was a real live octopus. One of it's creepy tentacles was even sticking out at me. I freaked out for a minute and backed away, but then i went back for a closer look and could even see its cloudy white eye staring at me. It was incredibly disgusting... but really freaking cool. David (Mr Panzer) and I were out on the reef for probably more than an hour. (i finally have a sunburn!) I cannot wait to go try it out again tomorrow! (this time I am MAKING Hillary go with me.)

So anyway, enough about snorkeling... After I was done in the water and had my share of laying out on the sand. I came back to the room and proceeded to get ready for the rest of my day. Hillary and myself were hanging out when we had a knock at the door! A Visitor. It was good ole' Mrs Panzer. She was on a mission and was trying to infiltrate the famous and now infamous "blog." She insisted that we let her post on our blog. Well no way was that happening, but we did agree to let her post a "comment" with all of our other public. Patti spent a good 30 minutes working on a proper response and even tried out a few one liners on us before hand as if she was even going to touch on the pure comedic genius that the H & H team are. Here is a picture of her blogging....

After Patti finished whining about how our blog just wasn't fair... We all packed back into the family fun wagon and drove to Lahaina. A coastal down on the western edge of Maui. We had tickets to see a "cirque du soleil" type show called Ulalena http://www.ulalena.com/ and wanted to do some more shopping. When we got to Lahaina we split up and the "kids" and the "parents" went and did their own things. Hillary, Laura and myself walked up and down Lahaina and purchased a few souvenirs along the way.

Well little did we know, we were about to experience Katrina 3. Within a matter of 15 minutes the weather suddenly changed and we were experiecing a total downpour. Luckily we got out of the storm just in time and decided to kill some time in The Hard Rock Cafe. We downed a couple of milkshakes, diet cokes, fries and dessert and basically just sat there making fun of our moronic waiteress "Vanessa." We don't know her, but we decided that she was a former pagent queen from California and she came to Maui to chase her dreams of being a full time party girl. She was an idiot. In fact most of the people at the Hard Rock seemed to be either totally stoned, or just idiots. Whatever.

Looking cute at Hard Rock...

After the rain stopped we left and met Patti and David at the Maui theater. Because Hillary's aunt and uncle live in Maui they got us the "kama aina" rate" (spelling on that one?) and got VIP tickets and coupons for free drinks. Well smart one that Hillarys is, forgot her ID and was stuck with a diet coke, but the rest of us, well we lucked out because we got to enjoy a really cool play telling the history of Hawaii/Maui through dance and song, WHILE sipping on wine! Whoo hoo.

After the spectacular show we went over to the Bubba Gump Shrimp house and all chowed down on some shimp and burgers. Safe too say we ate more than we should today. I have never been to a Bubba Gump Shrimp but that place was crazy. First off, it was so freaking loud you couldnt hear anyone, the wait staff has so much energy I think they were on speed and this place is overhanging the edge of the seashore and the ocean is literally battering up on the side of the building. I was lucky enough to get the spot near the open window and was able to check out the cruis ships docked out in the water as well as watch for any late night whale's breeching. (Haha, David) Anyway,... after we stuffed ourselves on greasy food at Bubba Gump's we drove back to our happy little condo and are now preparing for bed-e-bye. In fact, I am quite tired. Something about living on "Maui time" wears me out! I appologize for the lack of hilariousness in this particular posting, but I am feeling sleepy and Hillary has already tucked herself into her little twin bed!

acting like ourselves at Bubba Gump Shrimp...

Tomorrow while Patti and Dave most likely head off on another car adventure into the "upcountry" we are going to cross our fingers for great weather and hang out here on the beach!

Aloha and good night kiddies!
